4/44 Killifreth Farmhouse
- II
Farmhouse. Circa early-mid C17, extended circa late C17 to early C18, remodelled and
partly rebuilt C19. Painted granite and killas rubble walls. Delabole dry slate
roofs with gable ends. Rendered chimneys over gable ends of north east wing. The
original early-mid C17 range is a 2-room plan and has been partly rebuilt in C19. An
additional 2-room range was built circa late C17 to early C18 at right angles to north
east, joined at the corner, and has rectangular stair turret projecting at centre of
south east wall. 2 storeys, altered window openings C19. Most openings with 2-light
casements, mostly with glazing bars. 2-window south west front has original central
4-centred arched granite doorway with wide chamfer and ball on pyramid stops. Top-
glazed C20 arched door. Further doorway to left within C19 rebuilt part, with C20
top-glazed door and cambered arch over incorporates earlier moulded stone as keystone.
