7/35 The Vicarage
GV II
Vicarage. Circa 1850's. Probably by J.L. Pearson. Killas rubble with granite quoins, jambstones, sills and lintels. Dry Delabole slate roofs with slightly projecting verges. Large external stone gable stack to east, lateral stone stack to west and brick chimney over gable end of rear wing. Tudor inspired but with vernacular influence. Irregular T-shaped plan with integral outshut filling rear angle. 2 storeys. 3-window south west front of 1-window gable end of projecting wing, left, canted porch in angle, 2-light window over, and large 4-light window to right with 3- light gabled oriel over. Ground floor sills lowered. Windows have wooden mullions and 2-pane hornless sashes. Sills have mullion plinths. Oriel is supported on moulded granite corbel. Gable end of projecting wing, left, has 4-light window to ground floor and 3-light window over rising above eaves level. Porch diagonally set in angle has 4-centred arched doorway, ledged door, and plain parapet over. Interior not inspected.
