LANSALLOS SX 15 SE 3/1 Great Tregue Farmhouse -
GV II
Farmhouse now private house. Probably late C17 or early C18 extended in circa mid C19. Rendered stone rubble with slate roof with gable ends and double gable end to 2 adjoining projecting rear wings with central valley between. Projecting stone rubble chimney stacks with brick shafts on gable ends. 2 room and through passage plan probably originally hall kitchen on left and parlour on right. Extended to rear in circa mid C19 with 2 gabled rear wings. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front probably remodelled in mid C19. Ground floor with 2 Cl9 tripartite sashes with glazing bars flanking central entrance door in rendered stone late C19/C20 porch with hipped slate roof. C20 part glazed door. First floor with three 12-pane sashes. Rear wings of 2 storeys with brick painted segmental arches and 2-light casements with glazing bars. Interior hall kitchen at left end with timber lintel to fireplace with jambs partly renewed. Parlour fireplace remodelled and timber lintel replaced with dressed stone arch. Upper floors not inspected. House reputed to have dated from 1612 and have been associated with the priory at St Germans. Information from previous owner.
