3/38 2 headstones of Barnabas Northcom wife and son and John Perry Mariner 6m to east of south aisle of Church of St Ildierna GV II
2 headstones. 1783 and 1779. In memory of Barnabas Northcom who died in 1783 with wife who died in 1776. Second in memory of John Perry Mariner who was 'unfortunately kill'd by a Cannon Ball, by a person unknown' 1779. Slate headstones with rounded corners. Both incised with angels head beneath round- headed arch. Finger pointing to hourglass on left and figure blowing arrows at a heart on the right. Headstone of Barnabas Northcom has inscribed panel divided in 2 with verse 'When you my Friend And Children all so Dear Remember tis a Pointed For all men once to die' Headstone of John Perry also has verse beginning 'In prime of life most suddenly. Sad tidings to relay Here view my utter destiny ...'
