Rectory, now private house. Built for Rev. James Rawlings by Samuel Bone in 1836 on the site of an earlier rectory and possibly incorporates some earlier masonry. Stuccoed stone with slate roof with hipped ends around central well. Brick and rendered brick stacks. Almost rectangular in plan with projecting wings on front to north-east and rear near centre. Reception rooms arranged around wide central hallway. 2 storeys and cellars. North 3-window front, regular with right hand side set forward. Ground floor with tall 24 pane sash on left of C20 rendered porch with flat roof. Tall 16 pane sash in projecting wing on right. Above, two 16-pane sashes flanking 12-pane sash. West, 3 window front, symmetrical. Ground floor with 2 tall 24-pane sashes flanking central 12-pane sash in slightly recessed bay with segmental arch over. Above two 12-pane sashes and one 16-pane sash. All windows (except C20 porch window) without horns and with crown glass. Granite sills to openings. Interior almost complete including doorcases with reeded architraves with roundels at corners. Ornate plasterwork cornice in drawing room with acanthus leaves. C19 marble fireplaces with arched openings on heavy brackets. Main staircase, openstring with wreathed rail, ramped at corners and back staircase with turned newels. Considerable documentary evidence relating to earlier rectory consisting in 1613 or hall, kitchen and 4 chambers. B E de St Paer-Gotch A History of St Pinnock Church and Parish rp 1983.
