DRAYCOTT & CHURCH WILNE MARKET STREET SK 43 SW (west side) 1194-/3/10006 Cotton processing and storage buildings at Draycott Mills GV II
Cotton processing and storage buildings, now disused. c1840-1850. Brick with ashlar and brick dressings and slate roofs. Single storey. 3 adjoining buildings forming an L plan, approx. 9 x 7 bays. Openings are mainly boarded or blocked. To south, a single range orientated east-west, with hipped roof behind coped parapet. 7 windows and 2 blank doorways to south. Segment headed double door on east side. 2 windows and 2 doorways to north. Attached at the west end, 2 buildings orientated north-south, both with shouldered coped gables. Southern building has a ridge ventilator. To east, 4 recessed square headed panels containing a door and 2 windows. Double door and a window to rear. Northern building has to east 6 arcaded round arched openings, with blocked windows and inserted doors. At the rear, 2 flat headed windows and double doors, This building is part of an integrated site for the manufacture of cotton yarn and lace.
