ESTON HIGH STREET, south side NZ 51 NE 7/13 No. 94 (The Ship Inn) - II

Wrongly shown on O.S. map as No. 49. Pair of cottages, mid-C18 at right, early/mid C19 at left, the former with early/mid C19 rear extension. Now a public house. Dressed sandstone; brick to rear of left-hand part. Left end and ridge stacks rebuilt in brick. Renewed clay pantile roof, sprocketed at eaves, with stone ridge and gable copings and shaped kneeler at left end. 2 storeys and basement, 2 and 3 windows. Mid C20 door up 2 steps in 2nd bay. Passage opening with mid C20 metal gate, at right end. Blocked basement light in first bay. Late C20 casements in original openings on ground floor. Renewed sashes with glazing bars on first floor. Windows in right ` part have crude flat surrounds. Mid/late C20 painted sign boards between floors and hanging sign between floors at junction. Continuous moulded eaves cornice. 2-storey extension at rear of right part.
