LAZENBY HIGH STREET, north side NZ 51 NE 7/21 Grange Farmhouse and Farm Cottage - II
Farmhouse, early C19; mid-C19 farm cottage and slightly later outhouse. Vertically-tooled dressed sandstone. Mid-C20 concrete tiled roofs. Dressed sandstone cottage and outhouse. Brick gable end and stone gable copings to cottage. Clay pantiles on outhouse. Farmhouse : 2 storeys, 5 bays, with slightly-projecting pedimented centre bay. Central segment-headed doorway, in painted rusticated surround with double-keyed lintel; mid-C20 door. Sash windows with glazing bars, painted keyed lintels and sill bands. Moulded eaves cornice. Blind lunette in tympanum of pediment. Hipped roof with 2 corniced transverse ridge stacks. Rear shows part-blocked stair window with keyed lintel. Lower 2-storey, one-window farm cottage adjoins rear. Blocked door, and mid-C20 casements in original window openings, with keyed lintel on ground floor. Lean-to outhouse adjoins gable end. Mid-C20 brick lean-to extension to outhouse is not of special interest. Range of farm outbuildings to west of farmhouse, are much altered and not of special interest. Formerly known as Lazenby Grange Farmhouse.
