NEWBOLD ASTBURY C.P. MACCLESFIELD CANAL SJ 86 SE 5/61 Aqueduct over Watery Lane - - II
Canal aqueduct taking the Macclesfield Canal across Watery Lane. c. 1827. By William Crosley. Yellow sandstone ashlar. Single span cambered archway with battered walls to the sides of the tunnel and to the retaining walls which curve around until they are parallel with the course of the road. Voussoirs above the arch with a projecting keystone which connects with a band below the parapet which has a chamfered coping. The retaining walls terminate in square piers.
