BETCHTON C.P. TRENT AND MERSEY CANAL SJ 75 NE 7815 5835 6/20 Milepost upstream of Lock No. 57 - - II
Milepost. Dated 1819. Cast iron. Circular post with projecting quatrefoil to lower body with the date in raised letters and R&D STONE. Above this is a curved plate which is divided vertically and reads. SHARDLOW PRESTON BROOK 67 25 MILES MILES
The post terminates in a moulded domed finial.
