2/21 Chapel Cottage

II Cottage, late C17 but now mainly C19 appearance. Brick with remnants of timber framing and thatched roof. Single storey and attic, 2 bays with later addition at rear (south). The west section of the building has original Oak wallplate front and rear and one vertical timber in the facade, the east section is added and has eaves at a higher level. Small flush casements with single glazing bars. The boarded entrance door, which is under an added slate porch supported off oak posts and brackets, has been divided into vertical panels externally. Interior: Bevelled beam and exposed joists. Exposed large purlins with wind braces, strutted truss.
