POOLE C.P. POOLE BANK SJ 65 NW Poole Bank Farm House 1/85 12 January 1967 - II
Farmhouse, mid C17 with later alterations. Brick nogged timber frame and brickwork with tile roof. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. A rear wing of brickwork completes a "T" shaped plan. Timbers in small framing style with angle braces, but the north-west added bay is all brick. A C20 hardwood 8-panel door is fronted by a bracketed hood with pitched tiled roof. Sashes at ground floor with exposed weight boxes and glazing bars, also one 3-light flush casement with glazing bars. 2-light flush casements at first floor level. Stacks to the gables of the original timber framed house. There is a lean-to added to the south-east gable but above this there is truss with four studs between tie beam and collar. Interior: Bevelled beams and exposed ceiling joists, in two rooms, also later chamfered beams. Timbers in internal walls. Wide boarded doors on HL hinges. At first floor level exposed roof timbers, a Jacobean style 2-panel door on HL hinges and ledged and battened doors.
