Details

BEESTON C.P. HORSLEY LANE SJ 55 NW 5/12 Horsley Lane Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse. Dated 1664/WWM on window (formerly door) lintel. Timber framed with whitewashed brick infill and slate roof. Two storeys. Entrance front: 6 x 3 cells of small framing with angle braces to left, right and centre. Three 2-light casements to ground floor and 2 gabled 2-light windows to first floor with a C20 brick rebuilding at left with a cambered headed 2-light casement window and brickwork painted in simulation of timber framing. There is a 2-light gabled dormer window to the right and a 3-light similar window above the join between the C17 walling and that of this century. Lean-to C19 timber-framed addition at right. Rear: Small framing to whole of rear wall largely obscured by later outshuts.

The building suffered from a fire in c.1920 and the damaged timber-framed walling was renewed in brick.
