Nos. 41, 43 and 45 (FORMERLY LISTED WITH THE GEORGE HOTEL)

Formerly part of the east range of The George Hotel when a
coaching inn and sharing a common street facade. Red brick,
plain tile roofs with stone copings to the parapet. Three
storeys with bands at each floor and a brick plinth. Two blind
windows and five second floor hung sash windows with glazing
bars in gauged brick arches. Seven similar first floor
windows. No 41 has shallow bayed shop windows with glazing bars
and cornice flanking a half-glazed door, inserted in c.1920.
The mid C19 shop window and door to No. 43 have a common
entablature with plain pilasters and frieze. The shop to the
north, No. 45, is similar to No. 43 but has a replacement window
and door.
The interior to No. 41 has a fine C18 staircase of four flights.
