OFFORD DARCY HIGH STREET TL 2166 (WEST SIDE) 7/12 No. 90 24.10.51 (HORSESHOE INN) GV II
Hall with jettied crosswing to North, dated 1626 carved on jetty sill. Timber framed, roughcast rendered and plain tiled. Ridge stack and later end stack to South. Hall range of one storey and attics and two bay plan. Two C18 dormers with horizontal sliding sashes. One window and one splayed bay at ground floor, both with similar horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars. Entry opposite stack. Crosswing of two storeys. One first floor hung sash with glazing bars and a similar C18 splayed bay at ground floor. Interior: The hall has been much altered, but the wall plate in the West wall and the tiebeam between the bays are visible. Sealed inglenook. Crosswing with inglenook, chamfered and stopped main beams and middle rails. Original fireplace of soft red brick to first floor room of crosswing. R.C.H.M. (Hunts.) , mon.9
