TL 18 SE SAWTRY WOODWALTON LANE (North Side) 5/56 Grange Farm Cottage

II House. Late C17, and C19. Timber-framed, plaster and roughcast rendered. C19 brick casing, painted to front wall and to small extensions on the rear. Plain tiled steeply pitched roof and ridge stack with string course, also rendered. Large side stack, with offsets to the rear wall. Single range plan of three rooms with lobby entry and a stair turret at the rear off the hall/kitchen. Two storeys. Front wall has C19 fenestration. Three recessed first floor windows, all modern, with repaired arches and six ground floor windows, including four with C19 segmental arches. Two doorways with similar C19 arches and a blocked opening at the West end. Inside: Exposed wall framing, repaired inglenook, and C19 staircase in the C17 stair turret.
