Farmhouse. C17, extended in the C18 and C19, part of interior remodelled mid C19. Rendered rubble; dry slate and asbestos slate roofs; ashlar stack over outbuilt breast to right-hand end of C18 range and 2 rendered stacks flanking central block of main range with half-hipped roof. Overall L-shaped plan, the presumed original part extended at rear probably later C19 obscuring part of the front of the C18 range. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; garden front overlooking valley is an irregular 5-window range, the central 3-window-range part is taller and has a double polygonal-fronted conservatory for most of its length enclosing doorway with panelled door and overlight and flanking sashes, and there is a sash on the right, also 2 paired sashes to 1st-floor left and right, all early-mid C19 12-pane hornless sashes. Tall window above doorway and wide windows to flanking wings are C20 windows with glazing bars. C18 front originally a symmetrical 5-window front but left-hand window now within lean-to; original sashes with thick glazing bars to right of doorway, otherwise C20 horned copies; wide doorway with open porch and tent-shaped roof. Rear of C18 range has central hip-roofed stair projection with round-arched stair window with C18 fanlight head and C19 12-pane sash. INTERIOR: has a C17 chamfered round-arched granite doorway to rear wall right of the present cross passage. In this part of the house are some mid C19 features including plaster ceiling cornices.
