Cottage, formerly a pair. Late C17. Timber-framed and plastered with half hipped thatched roof. Central ridge stack with grouped diagonal shafts. One storey and attic; original plan a handed pair with entrances into main room and with inner service room to left or right hand; stairs to upper floors beside stack. C20 fenestration, two casement dormer windows and five similar ground floor windows; original entrances blocked, main entrance in flat closed porch to right hand. The cottage is built on The Green that was formerly the site of the old medieval market, enclosed in 1840.
