Parish church. C12 north wall, west wall and respond of south arcade to nave. C14 south arcade and south aisle. Chancel, vestry and tower c.1640 rebuilt after a storm; tower rebuilt 1811 and remodelled during 1868-9 restoration when north and south proches were added. Walls of re-used limestone and pebble rubble. Roofs of slate and lead. south elevation, tower of two stages with limestone quoins and plinth, embattled parapet with corner pinnacles, similar embattled parapet to nave, aisles and chancel. Four, fixed-light wooden dormer windows to aisle roof; aisle with three square-headed clunch windows, one of four lights C17, and two of three cinquefold-lights possibly C14. South doorway with two- centred head and continuous moulding. Chancel with rendered walls and vestry in angle with aisle. Re-used roll-moulded C12 limestone quoins to buttresses. Interior. Nave arcade C14 of four bays; clunch piers with moulded caps and chamfered bases with two, two-centred arches of two-chamfered orders. Chancel arch similar to arcade but possibly rebuilt in C17. Nave and aisle roofs C17 with braced tie beams and pendants. Font, C13 octagonal bowl. Octagonal pulpit with sides of two bolection moulded panels and inscription, 'WW 1682'. C18 clock. Monuments and brasses (see R.C.H.M), include brass to J Killingworth, Rector 1667; floor slab to Nicholas Saunderson F.R.S. Professor of Mathematics 1739; and monument by Payne of St. Ives to Robert Underwood 1792. R.C.H.M. West Cambs. Mon. 1, p.28 Pevsner. Buildings of England p.308
