House built c.1795 with later C19 details and rear extensions. Local brown brick, hipped slate roof with deep boarded eaves and shaped brackets. Three storeys with basement, main entrance at rear. Four 'bays'. Four second floor recessed six-paned, hung sash windows in cambered gauged brick arches. Similar twelve- paned windows at first and ground floor. Stone first floor band, and stone dressed plinth. Wrought iron spearhead front railings. C19 wall to south-west with brick piers and stone ball finials. Cellars earlier than house, possibly part of riverside wharf. Formerly 'The Conquering Hero' public house in 1856. A.A. Oldham, Inns and Taverns of Wisbech, 1950.
