Details

WOOBURN TOWN LANE SU 98 NW 6/196 Manor House 10.9.82 GV II House. Late C18 double pile house, originally double-fronted, with C19 extension across S.E. end, all altered mid C19 and c.1900. Brick with dentil eaves, hipped old tile roof, 3 large tapering brick chimneys. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. S.W. front has wooden casements with glazing bars, the ground floor windows transomed with bars removed from lower lights. Outer bays have 3-light windows; centre bay has 4-light window over canted bay window; between left bays are 2-light windows, the lower in blocked doorway. C20 door to right. Rear has irregular mid C19 casements with shaped wooden arches to each light and gauged brick heads. Tall staircase window between right bays, 2 small gabled dormers with cusped bargeboards. Entrance end to N.W. has 2 bays of barred wooden casements, with dentilled gable over upper right window, and central double doors with c.1900 heavily moulded arch. Interior has been altered.
