House. C15 altered and extended. C17-19. Originally timber framed, now outwardly
all brick. Old tile roof, slate to C19 west wing. Hall house with cross wing,
extended to west. South elevation of hall range has 6-panel door on left, modern
4-light casement on right, two 3-light casements to first floor. Gable of cross wing
on left has 3-light sash window to ground floor, 4-light casement above. C17 chimney
to north side of hall range. C19 wing with sash windows. Interior. Heavy chamfered
joists and beams of C17 inserted floor in hall, C17 inglenook and renewed newel stair
in angle of cross wing. Timber framing of cross wing also exposed; first floor, fine
chamfered open truss of hall, arched braced tie and collar, large quadrant windbraces
in roof. History. The home of Aneurin Bevan 1954-60.
