Details

ABBOTSHAM SS42NW 2/21 The Old Vicarage II Vicarage, now house, c. 1820-30, altered c. 1860. Colourwashed render over coursed slatestone rubble; gabled slate roof, with bracketed gable ends; rendered stone end, ridge and internal stacks. L-plan with older early C19 range to rear left. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Gabled 2-storey central porch has chamfered pointed arched doorway: C19 half-glazed inner door set in moulded wood architrave. Flat rendered arches over 2 and 3-light chamfered wood-mullioned and transomed windows with C19 casements. Two-storey square bay window with similar windows in right gable end. Similar bay to rear, with similar window above studded door set in chamfered pointed arch. Two-storey rear wing has right side wall of 3-window range with 12 and 16-pane sashes, and early/mid C19 three-light casements with glazing bars. Interior: panelled doors and shutters. Staircase of c. 1870. Cloam oven and mid C18 cupboard with panelled doors and eared architrave in rear wing.
