Formerly known as: Milestone Cottages LONDON ROAD Cosham. Cottages, now public house. Late C18/early C19 altered mid C20. Stuccoed with stone dressings. Plain tile hipped roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, north wing 2 storeys. 1 wide bay. South facing front has stone rusticated flanking quoins full height on left and from first floor on right. At centre is a projecting 1-storey enclosed porch with flanking iron columns with Egyptian type cap, fluted and splayed, timber entablature and flat roof, 28-pane glazed front screen with panelled apron. On left and right return is a C20 half glazed 6-pane door. To left and right and at centre on first floor is a tripartite window with centre 12-pane sash and narrow flanking 4-pane sashes each set under flat arch with eared and shouldered stone architrave and keystone, moulded sillband to ground and first floors. Second floor has moulded sillband with on each flank a 2-leaf 12-pane casement set under similar flat arch and architrave. Brick dentil with projecting eaves. On left return facing west, the 3-storey section, 2 bays wide has rusticated quoins above first floor. 2 similar tripartite windows and surrounds, at first floor moulded sillband with 2 12-pane sashes. Sillband at second floor with on left a 2-leaf 12-pane casement. To left the 2-storey wing 3 bays wide has rusticated quoins. On right and partly set within south wing is a recessed half-glazed door with moulded stone architraves. On left are two 12-pane sashes with blinded edge moulded panel between. First floor has moulded sillband with 3 closely grouped 12-pane sashes. Each window to west front is set under a flat arch with eared and shouldered architraves with keystone. On far left is an early C20 1-storey flat roof wing with curved stone parapet coping and a 1-storey painted brick outbuilding with pyramidal roof and surmounted with a small C18 style bellcote.
