2/106 Haglis Cottage - II -

Cottage. Circa 1800. Cob, stone plinth, rendered under hipped thatched roof. L- shaped plan. 2 storeys. Front: 3-window range. Simply planked door (left of centre) under open timber lattice-work porch. 3-light timber casement window to left of porch (18 leaded panes per light), two 2-light windows to right, 13 leaded panes per light, all lights ogee-headed. First floor windows all 3-light, 18 leaded panes per light, the lintels just breaking eaves line. Axial stack. Right hand rear wing with a 2-light casement (6 panes per light). External end stack to wing. Rear: to the inner side elevation of wing and to the outshut, three 3-light windows, 8 leaded panes per light, with glazing bars, the outer lights fixed. Internal panelled shutters. This pretty Gothick cottage was originally the home of the Head Gardener to the Acland (Killerton) estate.
