Details

MILFORD ROAD 1. 1633 Mount Pleasant Hotel SY 1287 1/260 II 2. (Marked Cote Lawn Hotel on map). Early C19 two storey rough cast house with slightly lower 2 storey wing. Gable end slate roofs, boxed eaves to main block. 5 windows on 1st floor (including those on wing) flush framed sashes with later glazing bars. Ground floor of main block has 2 windows; to the left a recessed sash, glazing bars intact with pointed top panes; to the right a narrower 2-light casement with serpentine blind case. Central entrance with modern glazed porch, panelled door. The wing has one window ground floor similar to those on 1st floor. On the south side, ground floor, is a canted hipped roof bay. 2-light diamond glazed casements each side with pointed lights above and drip moulds. Later 2-light casement to centre. The house is set well back from road in spacious garden.
