13/75 Garden walls and archway to - garden of Vincent Lodge

GV II

Tall garden walls and arched doorway to garden in front of Vincent Lodge (q.v.) probably 1849 contemporary with Vincent Lodge. Stone rubble walls with brick capping. A stuccoed colourwashed arched doorway with a timber door leads into the garden, pretty mid C19 hexagonal floor tiling to the doorway matches the tiling to Vincent Lodge verandah and incorporates the name of the house. The Gothic style archway is a nice foil to the C18 doorway to the garden of 'The Cottage' (q.v.), adjacent to Vincent Lodge which was built in the garden of 'The Cottage'.
