Cottage. C17, renovated and extended circa 1985. Plastered cob on stone rubble
footings; stone rubble or cob stack topped with C18 and C19 brick; thatch roof,
interlocking tile roof.
2-room plan cottage facing south and backing onto the lane. The larger left
(western) room is heated by a gable end stack and the right-hand room is unheated.
Single storey extension on right end is narrower than main house and set back from
the front. Main house is 2 storeys.
Irregular 2-window front of circa 1985 casements with glazing bars and central plank
door is contemporary. Roof is half-hipped to right and gable-ended to left. The
extension also has 2 circa 1985 casements with glazing bars and contemporary glazed
door between. Its roof is gable-ended.
Interior modernised circa 1985. The right room crossbeam looks like a replacement
of that date but the left room crossbeam is original; it is soffit-chamfered with
scroll stops. Fireplace is blocked and roof not inspected.
