House, former farmhouse. c.1400 and late C16. Timber framed and plastered. Of 'T' plan form with pegtile roofs, hipped on both ends of main block and on rear extension. Of 2 storeys and with red brick outbuildings to the west. Front has off-centre gabled C19 porch and old cast iron and timber casement windows with leaded lights. Off-centre square ridge line stack. Northern part is former open hall of 'in-line' type with massive arch brace to tie beam, cross quadrant crown post, all heavily soot blackened. Inserted partition around central hall crown post has painted timber framing of probable C16, part-flooring the open hall. The 3 bays to the south are a late C16 extension with jowled posts and arch-braced side purl in roof.
