- II
House, formerly an inn. Early C19. Roughcast solid walls, probably of stone. Slated roof. Chimneystack on each gable, the left-hand stack projecting from the gable-wall. Small stack in right-hand wall to rear. Double-depth plan, the rear section under a catslide roof. 3 storeys at front, 2 at rear. 3 windows wide. Ground and second storeys have sash windows with 2 or 3 panes, except for a 6-paned fixed sash to left of doorway. Third storey has low fixed sashes, the outer 2 of 6 panes, the middle one with 10 panes. Ground storey has C20 glazed door off-centre to left; one window at far right end and 2, crowded together, to left of it. Interior not inspected. The building is aligned to the pre-turnpike road.
