T plan with a gabled projection at right angles to the main range in the centre. Italianate. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front, with a central projection gabled to the front with a keyed oculus in the gable ; platband at first floor level. The left hand opening has been blocked; the right hand opening has paired doors below a fanlight with spoke glazing. The outer bays have segmental headed tripartite sashes with mouled stone architraves. 3 first floor round-headed sashes in the centre with moulded architraves, keystones and brackets below the sills. The outer bays on the first floor have segmental-headed 12 pane sashes with moulded architraves and brackets below the sills, the right hand window converted to a fire escape door with external iron steps. Interior not inspected but may be of interest. In spite of the C20 modifications the Town Hall is a handsome building and contributes to the townscape.
