Details
PARISH OF BASLOW & BUBNELL BUBNELL LANE SK 27 SW 2/10 (West Side) 12.7 Bubnell Hall II Small country house. Mid C17, C18, early C19, restored early C20. Coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings. Stone slate and Welsh slate roofs. Coped gables with moulded kneelers. Ashlar ridge stacks. Two and three storeys. South elevation of 3-1-2-1 bays. The main part is of half-H plan with projecting gabled bays. The recessed centre part has first and ground floor sill bands. Central moulded doorcase with segmental pediment and panelled door. Flanked by 2-light square section flush mullion windows. Two similar windows above and two similar above again. Gabled bay to right has to each floor a 6-light recessed and chamfered mullioned and transomed window with a major mullion, probably early C20. The left hand gabled bay has three 3-light square section flush mullion windows. Early C19 wing set back to left, of three bays, with glazing bar sashes and a tripartite sash. East elevation has two external stacks with paired ashlar diamond stacks. Doorway with vermiculated rustication with the remains of a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window above. Studded door. To the left a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullioned and transomed window. Two similar but smaller windows above. The interior has one room with C17 style panelling and a staircase with heavy turned balusters.
