Shepherds Cottage
(Formerly listed as House east of Daisy Bank opposite Sunny Bank, EDENSOR LANE (south side))

House. c1830-40, probably by Paxton and Robertson. Rendered stone and ashlar. Plain tile roof with stone gable stacks. Overhanging gable ends with decorative bargeboards. Plain ground floor and eaves band. Two storeys. North elevation of three bays. Off-centre doorway with moulded ashlar doorcase and panelled door. To the right a square window with similar moulded ashlar surround and square section flush mullion. Similar window to left. Three similar windows above.
Built as part of the picturesque model village by Paxton for the Sixth Duke of Devonshire.
