Details

PARISH OF BREASTON MAIN STREET SK 43 SE 4/3 South Side) No 39 II 7.3.79 House. Early C19, possibly with earlier core, extended in 1980s. Red brick with plain tile roof, brick gable and ridge stacks, plus sawtooth eaves band. Two storeys and four bays plus single storey, single bay addition to south. West elevation has semi-circular headed doorcase with broken pediment on brackets above and flush panelled door with traceried fanlight below. To either side there are 3-light cambered headed windows with central glazing bar sashes and fixed small pane side lights. Similar window beyond to south and three similar flat headed windows above with a single glazing bar sash over the door. Single storey part to south has a 3-light segment headed horizontal sliding sash to north and a blocked segment headed doorcase to south. The roof has been raised and a lean-to added to this part in the 1980s. To rear, the original house has a central staircase tower with a glazing bar sash at landing level.
