Details

SK 26 NW PARISH OF NETHER HADDON HADDON ROAD 2/22 (South Side) 12.7.67 Haddon Barn GV II House and barn, now only house. Early C19 with early and late C20 alterations. Random limestone and gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings, stone slate roof with brick gable end and ridge stacks , also two brick ridge stacks rising from mid way up the pitch of the roof. Single storey plus attic storey, irregular fenestration. South elevation has central flush doorcase with glazed panelled door under glazed porch with decorative bargeboards. To west C19 plain sash in punched stone surround with glazed panelled door in similar surround beyond. To west again two similar plain sashes with pair of C20 garage doors beyond. To east of central door a thin plain sash and beyond two similar wider sashes, both in punched stone surrounds. Between these two sashes,a roofed garden seat with glazed sides. Above five,flat roofed,half dormers wth plain sashes, and above the central door a shallow roof dormer. North and east elevations have chamfered mullion and transom windows, probably inserted in early C20 to blend in with the work being carried out at Haddon Hall across the road.
