House. C17 with C18 additions and later alterations. Coursed rubble gritstone with
quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, intermediate and end ashlar ridge stacks,
that to the centre of the house with a moulded cap. Stone slated roofs. Irregular
plan, with main range having triple gabled projections to the north, and an
elongated range extending northwards from the west end. South elevation; two
storeys, four bays, the west end bay gabled, and with a gablet over the doorway.
Central ground floor window of 3-lights, with recessed chamfer mullions and a
central major mullion beneath a dripmould. Elsewhere, 2, 3 and 4-light chamfer
mullioned windows, together with 2, 3 and 4-light flush mullioned windows, those to
the west end bay C20 renewals or insertions. C20 casement frames. Above renewed
flush mullioned window and remodelled doorway at west end, hoodmoulds with stops. Main
doorway below gablet, with massive lintel and dripmoulding above, and C20 doors. East
gable has 2 and 3-light chamfer mullioned windows beneath dripmould. Extended range
to rear has tall cart entry with segmental arch, now with C20 glazed screen.
