The Jug and Glass Public House
(Formerly listed under LEA MOOR ROAD (North Side))

Public House. Dated 1782 on door lintel. Coursed squared gritstone with quoins,
coped west gable, intermediate and west end brick stacks and a stone slated roof.
"L" plan, with lower two storey range to rear. South elevation: three storeys,
two bays, formerly with stacked 2-light flush mullioned windows, now with C20
leaded casements in old stone frames. Central doorway with shallow bracketed hood
quoined surround and a six panelled door, with the two upper panels glazed.
Elaborate C20 metal scrollwork bracket supports sign to from elevation.
Inscription to door lintel reads S.S.E. 1782.
