SK 35 SW PARISH OF CRICH BOWNS HILL 3/5 (East Side) Nos 10 and 12 GV II

A pair of houses. Late C18, with C19 remodelling. Regularly coursed gritstone with quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers to the south gable, and at the junction of the two houses. Intermediate and gable end brick stacks with slate roof coverings. Two storeys, four bays, the two bays to the south double pile plan. Three 3-light flush mullioned windows and a sash window within a flush stone frame. Ground floor with two shop fronts, one either side of a central doorway, both with moulded timber cornice. Restored 3-light flush mullioned window with plain drip mould to south end bay, and two 2-light casements to north end bay, one in blocking to former doorway with quoins and massive lintel. Central doorway, altered, with lintel and part of quoined surround surviving. C20 six panelled door.
