Lychgate to Holy Trinity Church and attached walls

II

Lychgate and attached walls. c1920. Sandstone with timber super-structure and plain tile roof with bargeboarded gables and wooden ridge cross. Short sandstone walls with robust grid-like wooden gates to western end, and timber superstructure above, made up of eight large oak posts on either side supporting the roof. Both gables are filled by vertical timbers and the western tie beam has 'In memorium' inscribed on it. On the inside of the walls are plaques to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. Attached to either side of the lychgate are short ashlar walls.
