Details

PARISH OF HAZELWOOD SPRING HOLLOW SK 34 NW 4/34 Hazelwood Hall Farmhouse l3.2.67 II Farmhouse. C17 or earlier, with C18 alterations. Coursed squared gritstone, some massive, with coped gables, kneelers, and with a moulded eaves cornice to the central range. Two intermediate brick ridge stacks and a plain tiled roof. Two storeys, four bays, with advanced crosswings at ends, and a two-bay central range with off-centre doorway with quoined surround, and a six-panelled door. Shallow bracketed canopy to doorway, on moulded timber posts. Crosswings stand on moulded plinth band, and have a tall 3-light chamfer mullioned window to each bay, with painted surrounds, and with some surviving leaded lights. First floor windows with glazing bar sashes, set in old stone surrounds. North west of doorway, a blocked rectangular opening with a stone surround and above, a taller blocked opening. South west elevation with a tall tripartite window, with glazing bar sashes.
