Village stores (now used for storage) and terrace of three cottages including the Post Office. c1891-4, possibly by Brewill & Baily. Red brick with some stone dressings. Plain tile hipped and gabled roofs. Brick ridge stacks. Two storeys.
West elevation of two symmetrical bays. The ground floor has a central round- arched doorway, with keystone and impost blocks. Now blocked with breeze blocks. Decorative panel above, inscribed 'Stores'. Flanked by recessed windows set in broad basket arched openings with decorative keystones. Windows with three main plate glass lights and fixed overlight with small pane glazing. Two square oriel windows above rising into gables. Boarded up at the time of re-survey.
Projecting wing to the right has a timber-framed gable to the south with a shop window below, similar to the main elevation. To the north are four segment headed windows, with one similar window centrally placed above and rising into a gable. Further shop window to the left, beneath a timber framed gable. Three cottages attached to the left have casement windows and panelled doors. Walls attached to rear, enclosing back yards. Built by the Bolsover Colliery Company as part of their 'Model Village' to house the workforce.
