Public House, C17. Roughcast stone with slate roof. Two storeys, five bays, end
bays project under cat slide roofs. Ground floor has C20 casement to 2nd bay,
those to 4th and 5th bays are sashed with vertical glazing bars and horns. 1st
floor windows have casements, those to 4th and 5th bays are sashed as above.
Central entrance has gabled slate canopy; entrance to 1st bay. 1st floor
extended to right over passage, with casement window. Gable-end stacks. Left
return has two small lights to ground floor. Rear has gabled wing. 1st floor
over passage is tile hung, window is sashed with glazing bars and horns. Two bays
to left of wing have flat-roofed ground floor extension, the 1st floor has
sashed windows with glazing bars. Left return to wing has a 4-light wood
chamfered-mullioned window to each floor, that to ground floor originally
unglazed, with intermediate bars and glazing inserted behind. Gable end has
small sashed window and casement under dripcourse and stack. Bay to right of
wing has 4-light wood chamfered-mullioned window with intermediate bars and
glazing inserted behind. Interior has chamfered beams and wide-boarded door
with central panel.
