Details

WITHERSLACK SD 48 SW 5/40 Halecat Cottage 21.11.52 II

House. Probably early C18 with later alterations and additions. Stone rubble, roughcast to north-west and south-west, slate roof. North-east elevation of 2 storeys and 2 bays. Windows are probably later; 3- and 4-light wooden chamfered-mullioned windows in enlarged openings with transoms and leaded glazing. Late C20 porch has swept gabled roof, leaded glazing and original 2-panel door in chamfered wooden frame. Gable-end stacks, that to right corbelled. Large lean-to outshut to left return has late C20 gabled half-glazed porch; small-paned glazed door and window above to left. Rear has lean-to outshut with large projecting lateral stack to right. Right return has ground floor small-paned casement; oriel above has leaded glazing and hipped roof; attic 3-light window with leaded glazing. 4-light transomed window to outshut. Interior has some fielded panelling, said to be C20, and stair with turned balusters.
