churchyard wall,
incorporating
drinking trough &
belvedere, to west
of St Michael's

G.V. II
Lych gate and wall, c1903. Low ashlar wall c3 ft high. Splayed wooden
superstructure to gate stands on battered ashlar plinths with integral stone
benches to their inner returns; woodwork has Gothic cusping and inscription.
Graduated slate roof has cross in small gabled opening to centre front.
Drinking trough in niche to left has semicircular bowl with inscription above.
Belvedere at corner has entrances from roadside and churchyard; 2 circular-plan
projections with stone bench to rear. Castellated snecked rubble wall adjoining
to west of belvedere has drum-shaped end pier with battered plinth and conical
cap.
