5/82 The Old Vicarage II

Vicarage, now house. Formerly larger. Early C18. Chequered red and grey brick with plain tile roof. South (garden) front: 2 storeys with plat band. Plain banded brick eaves cornice to central section and moulded eaves to end sections. Roof in 3 sections; broad central section projecting slightly and hipped at either end, narrower end sections roofed as wings and hipped to garden front. One stack at either end of central section. Regular 5-window front of narrow, recessed, glazing bar sashes, those on ground floor having rubbed brick voussoirs; 3 windows to central section and one to each of end sections. Windows in end sections on ground floor and central window of first floor converted into French windows in C20. Central door opening on ground floor up four steps, now with C20 French windows, flanked by C20 pilasters carrying small balcony with iron railings to first-floor. French windows. North(entrance) front: roofed in one, with very narrow windows. Porch with Doric columns carrying entablature and flat hood.
