5/93 Table tomb to Charles Family circa one yard north of monument to Best Family in Church- yard of Church of St Mary and All Saints

Table tomb, Early C19. Stone on stone base with moulded plinth and corniced lid. Long sides have side panels with vertical stepped recess on either side of vertical raised fluting tapering towards bottom, with acanthus leaf at base and lunette at top. Central panels recessed. Inscribed area surrounded by channel cut diagonally across corners and with fluted rays in each corner beyond the diagonals. Ends have plain side panels with stepped central recess, and recessed central panels with shouldered channel round inscribed areas. South side to memory of William Charles, Surgeon, of Maidstone, died 1832, also of Mary his wife, died 1821. East end to William Charles, their son, died 1810. North side to memory of 3 children, died 1799, 1819 and 1821. West end blank.
