Details
RAMSGATE WEST CLIFF ROAD TR 3764 NE (south side) 12/431 Nos. 42 and 44 GV II House pair. 1830's. Stock brick, part rendered, with slate roof. Two storeys, attic and basement. Rusticated base, with Corinthian pilasters incised with Greek key, supporting cornice parapet to hipped roof with stacks to centre and to rear and to rear right. Two dormers. Four sashes on first floor with moulded surrounds and 2 bows with pilasters and entablature on ground floor, with wooden casement and half-glazed door to left hand basement, and glazing bar sash to right hand basement. Entry by 2 storey porches in left and right returns, that to left (No. 42) with jettied upper storey with incised pilaster strips and consoles to roof, and with boarded door with cambered head and incised pilaster surround, at head of steps. No. 44 with smaller upper storey to porch (ie. not jettied out) and with door of 4 panels. Tile hung oriel to rear right.
