Details

1. 5280 BRASTED BRASTED High Street (South Side) The Lodge, and entrance Gateway to Brasted Place. TQ 4755 2/51

2. Late C18 or early C19 lodge. 2 storeys. One window to road. Stucco. Moderately low pitched, hipped, slated roof. Stuccoed ridge stack and moulded stucco eaves cornice. On 1st floor 3-light window in recess, centre sash, side casements, all with glazing bars. A 1st floor level continuous entablature and blocking course running around projecting bow holding 3-light sash window with glazing bars. On west return small round window and porch with pedimented gable. 6-panel door. Modern rear extensions. Between window and porch, late C19 abutment of gate pier, quadrant shaped in red brick holding niche with finely gauged round head. Stone plinth and entablature. Stone piers, banded in red brick and with similar plinth and entablature, bound this abutment and the corresponding one which is attached to wall of White Hart Hotel; and support dilapidated wrought iron double and single gates.
