Details

RAMSGATE HIGH STREET TR 3765 SW ST LAWRENCE (north side) 7/190 Nos. 1 and 3 13.8.68 GV II House pair, now offices. Early C19. Stock brick, in part rendered, with slate roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with cill band and parapet, projecting pavillions to left and to right, and recessed wings. Mansard roof with 3 semi-circular headed dormers, the wings with hipped roofs, and stacks ranged left to right. Centre piece of 5 bays, all glazing bar sashes, the 2nd and 4th set within segmental recesses on each floor, the other single windows with recessed panels over the ground floor windows with panelled aprons. Heavy panelled door with rectangular fanlight replacing sash in 2nd bay. Partitions with horizontally rusticated ground floors, recessed panel on 1st floor and recessed lunette on attic storey, both with glazing bar sash, and cornice parapet. Doors of 6 panels in recessed ground floor porches with Doric columns in antis with segmental tympanum over. Two storey wings, the ground floor rendered with replace- ment windows to right, with glazing bar sash on first floor in segmental recess, with 2 glazing bar sashes on left wing ground floor with tripartite glazing bar sash over.
