TL 50 NW LITTLE LAVER LITTLE LAVER ROAD 4/2 Church of St. Mary 20.2.67

GV II*

Parish Church. C14 with late C19 alterations and extensions. Flint rubble with some freestone and clunch dressings. Red plain tile roof. Simple rectangular plan, with combined Chancel and Nave. C14 Chancel and Nave has in north wall one C14 window with trefoiled light and C19 (1872) window and door to vestry. South wall has one C19 window and one C14 window with trefoiled head, moulded jambs, segmental pointed rear arch and label with head stops. C19 south door. West wall rebuilt 1872 East apse added in 1872, arcaded in a southern Romanesque derived style. 7 cant roof of C14, with tie beams. Late C12 font, with square bowl, with sloping sides, carved with foliage, fleur-de- lys, crescent, disc, star and whorl. Modern base. C14 Piscina re-set in north wall of apse, with moulded jambs and trefoiled head. (RCHM 1).
